MANAGEMENT UPDATE.

MEASURING EQUITY

Next Tuesday, October 29, the long-standing Center for Accountability and Performance at the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) is partnering with ASPA’s new H. George Frederickson Center for Social Equity for an important webinar about how states and local governments measure equity, how the use of measurement affects management and policy, and the complexities that arise.

This is an event with which Barrett and Greene are deeply involved, with Katherine Barrett, the board chair of ASPA’s new social equity center and Richard Greene, chair of CAP, co-moderating.

The webinar starts at 1 p.m. (ET), with free registration for both ASPA and non-ASPA members here.

The speakers are:

  • Michael Jacobson, Deputy Director, Performance and Strategy, King County Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget

  • Jennifer McGuirk, Auditor, Multnomah County, Oregon

  • Krystal Reyes, Chief Resilience Officer, Tulsa Oklahoma

  • Sarah Treuhaft, Senior Director of Policy and Partnerships, Institute on Race Power and Political Economy at the New School
